When it comes to emulators, general topics on emulators kept Nintendo occupied. Then all of the following happened within just a few days: Nintendo takes the lovers behind Yuzu to court, the Switch Emulator; they surrender.
Anyway, the drama is not going to stop there, other developers pile up. One such example is what's just happened with the most remarkable Nintendo DS emulator yet - DraStic is now up for grabs on the Google Play Market for free for all Android owners.
DraStic is now free on Android, but download it soon because it will inevitably disappear
If you are the sort of person that toys around with emulators, then you will most likely be fully aware of DraStic. It is certainly the best emulator for the Nintendo DS, mostly developed for other platforms that do exist on Android. Although, DraStic was a paid program for many years.
They have uncannily kept the emulator (Exophase) developed for the downloads absolutely free, disgracefully holding at bay with the longer arm of the law from Nintendo. Yes, you read that right. DraStic is now available for free on the Play Store, with no limitations applied to its functionalities. This was announced through the biggest Exophase forums but also officially in their Discord, with the bad news that the emulator will be free for a time, to finally end up disappearing sooner or later "under pressure from Nintendo, although they don't have a deadline set for that".
It's just a matter of emulator till when this one too shall step out. And let me also warn that it shall be present not only in the Google Play Store but everywhere else too.
Exophase added the source code would be posted soon before it gets out of their reach. It would mean even other developers in their community would pick where they left and, from the taking it from there, maybe start their own emulators to provide an alternative. This last one is pretty nice, but I don't know if others will give it a shot at making another alternative.
