For a long
time, Xiaomi desired to step into the car market. After putting in a lot of
hard work over the years, they've achieved their goal by launching their
first-ever car. This car, named the Xiaomi SU7, comes with cool features and an
attractive look, all at a price that appears to be reasonable.
The Xiaomi
SU7, while matching the sleek look and high-end details of pricier cars like
the Mercedes-Benz EQE and Tesla Model S, remains surprisingly affordable. This
shows Xiaomi's dedication to offering top-notch items without the steep price,
placing it as a strong rival in the car industry.
The design
of Xiaomi's SU7 draws inspiration from Porsche's styling, presenting itself
with dimensions close to 5 x 1.96 x 1.44 meters and a base length of 3 meters
between wheels. Inside, the car boasts plush Nappa leather seating designed for
sports, mood lighting, and a large glass roof spanning 5.35 square meters. Its
entertainment and information system is cutting-edge, allowing Xiaomi
smartphones and tablets to connect easily thanks to two displays: a big 16-inch
touchscreen front and center on the dash, and a smaller 7.1-inch one positioned
just behind the steering wheel for additional access. These standout
characteristics, along with its sophisticated tech features, underscore
Xiaomi's commitment to delivering high-quality products at a value, a principle
that has defined the brand.
The Xiaomi
SU7 will work with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 processor, allowing it to have a
self-driving mode in two versions. For this capability, the car will have
sophisticated radar and camera setups crucial for it to function. These
advanced sensors will let the car do some tasks by itself like staying in its
lane and adjusting its speed based on traffic, aiming to make the drive safer
and more comfortable for everyone inside. This mix of top-notch equipment and
programs will deliver a driving experience that's cutting-edge yet easy to use.
Xiaomi has
made it official: they're rolling out their first car, the Xiaomi SU7, with
three versions up for grabs - a basic one, a Pro, and a Max. For the basic
variant, the price tag reads 215,900 yuan (or around $27,698 when converted).
The Pro model will set you back 245,900 yuan (close to $31,547 after
conversion), and the top-tier Max version is going for 299,900 yuan (which is
about $38,474 in today's money). They're also offering a special Founders
Edition, capped at 5,000 pieces, though they haven't disclosed its price yet.
These cars are set to start reaching their new owners in China come April 2023.
What's more, a global launch is expected soon after, but anticipate a slight
bump in price to cover shipping fees.
