Lately, WhatsApp has been boosting its chat service by adding various
new features aimed at making conversations more private and secure for its
users. One of the key updates includes the introduction of Chat Lock. This tool
allows people to protect their private or group conversations by making either
a fingerprint or a password necessary to open them.
The primary issue was that the system couldn't work together with other
gadgets tied to the main user's profile. But, it's expected that this problem
will be fixed soon. The app, which Apple owns, is getting ready to introduce a
new security option for messages across all connected devices.
A recent check on the latest test version of WhatsApp for Android, known
as version 2.24.8.4, by WABetaInfo uncovered that the popular messaging service
is putting together a new feature to keep chats safe on other devices.
According to a picture shared, if you try to open a protected message
folder on WhatsApp from a different device using the same account in the
future, a message will show up. This message will ask you to create a password
to get in.
To set up a unique password, go to the main settings on your device,
then find and tap on the option for securing your messages. Choose to create a
new code.
After you've done this on both your main and any additional devices, the
folder where restricted chats are kept will disappear from your chats list. To
open it, you need to pull down from the starting screen and type in your
password when prompted.
Presently, WhatsApp is working on making it possible to protect your
messages on other devices you use. This feature is expected to be available for
everyone using the app through an upcoming update.
